Is the proofreading tool free?

Yes. There’s a fair-use limit on AI requests per hour to keep it free for everyone, and texts up to 8,000 characters per request.

Is my text kept?

Your text is sent to our server and an AI model only to create the proofread, and is not stored by TextCheck.

Does it use British or American English?

It follows the dictionary setting from the grammar checker (US by default). Switch to English (UK) on the home page and the proofread will use British spelling.

Can AI proofreading be wrong?

Yes, occasionally. That’s why every change is shown as a tracked edit rather than silently applied.
